Jess Jacklin is a Brooklyn-based filmmaker known for her impactful storytelling and commitment to shedding light on unique narratives. Her debut feature film, Quad Gods, which tells the story of a pioneering esports team made up of players with quadriplegia, premiered in the Documentary Competition at the 2024 Tribeca Festival and was subsequently distributed by HBO/Max.
Jess has also created the acclaimed five-episode docu-series Hacking Health for Topic, which explores cutting-edge medical technology and its implications on healthcare. Additionally, she directed the short film Waterman for PBS, a poignant portrayal of her grandfather, a fisherman on the Chesapeake Bay.
Her work often explores themes of resilience, innovation, and the human spirit, and she has established herself as a prominent voice in the documentary film scene. With a background in film production and a passion for storytelling, Jess continues to push boundaries and create thought-provoking content that resonates with audiences worldwide.
